OVERVIEW
RenFair 2026 will be the first Renaissance themed event in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. In June 2025, I was invited to take photos at the pre-event photoshoot.
Aim of the photoshoot was to take photos and videos to be used as promotional content on social media. My role as a photographer required me to take photos at props, characters, models, cosplayers and event setup, to show highlights and unique features of the event. All photos were shot on camera (Canon Eos M50) and edited in Darktable. In editing and post-production, my aim was to create a gloomy yet warm and welcoming look and feel. Yellow and golden highlights emphasises warm and sunny natural sunlight, also alluding to an old, rustic environment set in ancient times.

MORE INFO ABOUT THESE PROJECTS

CONTENT

One of my main duties was to source and  collect appropriate audiovisual content for each niche (eg: fantasy, sci-fi, drama, horror) making sure it was respectful of copyright and IP. Once enough videos and movies were collected, I generated JSON code and provided those sheets to our company's senior developer, who incorporated the code to finalise the production of each app.

BRANDING

I was also responsible to create brand identity and image for each mobile app (the examples shown above are: The Bestiary, CosmoPlay, Beyond the Evidence, HauntHub).

I created logos, colour palettes, typography and visual / graphic assets to use as promotional material when publishing the apps. These assets were then also used as feature graphics on Google Play and Amazon Store displays.

PUBLISHING

Once the development and production process was complete, I published the app bundles and feature graphics to both Google Play and Amazon App Store on behalf of the client Engage Media. As part of the publishing process, I also took care of writing descriptions, content rating and general management / admin.
